Affordable Art Fair Returns to Battersea Park

The Affordable Art Fair returns to Battersea from the 13th – 16th March to make contemporary art accessible and fun for all.
Since 1999, the Affordable Art Fair has been challenging perceptions of the art world. You do not have to be a millionaire or an expert to enjoy art! This March, the Affordable Art Fair returns to Battersea, where it all began, to reinforce the big idea of art for everyone.
Known for its unrivalled friendly atmosphere, the Fair not only aims to make art fun, but affordable, with works from over 100 galleries priced between £40 and £4,000.
Whether you are looking for a gift for a special someone or hoping to add to an existing collection - the fair is designed for art buyers of all kinds. For novices there are guided tours, education centres and workshops to guide you in the right direction, and for the collectors and connoisseurs there’s the breadth of choice with thousands of works varying from illustration to sculpture, photography and painting.
The Affordable Art Fair team has a host of valuable tips and advice for first-time buyers and seasoned collectors, but for Nicky Wheeler, Director of AAF Battersea, the main message to take into the fair is quite simple; “Our golden nugget of advice for first timers? Art is FUN! Enjoy yourself and get involved in all we have to offer. Join in one of our artist-run workshops, chat with the gallerists, discover new artists and generally just have a great day out.
Year on year, the fair has been committed to exhibiting and supporting emerging talent in the arts. At Battersea in March, an emerging art showcase gives artists the platform to start forging their career in the arts, and buyers the chance to buy and invest in a future star!
Works under £500 are always clearly marked at every fair so there really is the chance to unearth a real gem. Additionally, the Own Art scheme is used by many of the exhibiting galleries and allows buyers to arrange payments that work for them in manageable instalments.
The Affordable Art Fair couldn’t be a better platform for art-lovers and collectors to take a leap towards owning something really special. Sat in London’s Battersea Park besides the Thames, the Affordable Art Fair is the friendly face of art and the antidote to high-rolling London art fairs – making for a truly wonderful day out for the whole family.
The Affordable Art Fair has revolutionised and democratised the art market with its fun and accessible approach, bringing art under £4,000 to its three UK locations: Battersea Park, Hampstead Heath, and Bristol. Every fair offers something different, with a diverse range of local, national and international galleries at each showcasing art in an array of styles. Pieces by household names sit alongside the latest emerging talent. The concept has become a global phenomenon with 18 fairs in 14 cities across 4 continents.
This March, The Affordable Art Fair is delighted to announce Fight For Sight as the official charity partner for the Battersea fair this March. Fight For Sight is a UK charity dedicated to funding pioneering research to prevent sight loss and treat eye disease.
Since 1965 Fight for Sight has raised funds to support medical research into a wide-range of eye conditions. These include macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataract, diabetic retinopathy as well as the causes of childhood blindness. Fight for Sight also funds research into a large number of rare eye diseases. The charity is the largest in the UK dedicated to funding eye research.
